| THE SCIENTIST - Dr. Rob Atwill of the University of California,
Davis, Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center laughs
at the stuffy stereotype of scientists. His speciality is epidemiology:
tracking diseases and determining risk factors. |

Dr. Atwill was primarily a field
scientist so I didn't want to photograph him in a lab setting.
He occasionally used a microscope so I did some photos of him
with one but throughout the interview, I was most struck by his
enthusiasm and humor. I used this photo as it showed his personality
best. |
